Epiphany Moment: Marian Warren

Epiphany is the season…until Shrove Tuesday. A time for post-Christmas re flection or a time to start thinking about Lent and Easter? I do know that some denominations mention the arrival of the three kings to the manger. And that’s about it. For us, however, it provides a time for enjoying the post-Christmas gift sent to us by God. A time to reflect on the impact of that wonderful gift to us revealing God’s love for us. Epiphany cannot be a season to ignore. How has the reminder of the importance of Epiphany manifested itself?

For me, I have seen a kind of awakening by the people of St. Andrew’s. During Epiphany I have seen a new spirit. I have seen happy people talking and renewing acquaintances. I saw a vestry finally feeling comfortable being leaders….polishing skills not used for many years.

Enthusiasm and laughter and comfort at plans being made for a new Rector. Willingness to take part. Eyes being opened to what we CAN do together.

The Christmas spirit has spilled into Epiphany, as it should and, like a rolling snowball, gets bigger and bigger. Love the happiness and willingness of people to be a part of and to share the love sent down from God to enable us to rise from a kind of somnolence to a time of happy progress. “We have seen the star and have come to worship.”
