Knitters and Sewers: We need YOU for the Mission to Seafarers

During the holiday season, the Seattle Seafarers Center (Mission to Seafarers) gives away 1,000 ditty bags to merchant seafarers. These small gifts are one way we welcome and care for seafarers during the holiday season, especially while seafarers are far away from their homes and families. 

You help make that happen! Let’s work as a congregation towards making our own St. Andrew’s contribution this year. How to you can participate: 

Before November 20th: 

  • Purchase supplies, such as full sized deodorant, shaving cream, toothpaste, shampoo/body wash combo, disposable razors, and a toothbrush sealed in a single pack.
  • Knit a hat! Here’s the pattern.
  • Sew ditty bags! Here’s the pattern.

Join us this year on Saturday, November 20, 2021 as we stuff those ditty bags for this year’s Christmas season. We will gather from 9:30-noon at St. John Episcopal Church (3050
California Ave SW, Seattle, WA 98116) in West Seattle from 9:30-noon. Join us for all or any part of the time.
