On Monday, April 4, at 7:00 p.m. we will hold our final reflection on the Anti-Racism Covenant . As always, I will facilitate, and Rev. Tom will be present and contributing also. We will be meeting on ZOOM, and the format will be open, interactive, and welcoming. This adult education event will end on Monday, but our fight against racism will continue over the coming months and years.
This essential covenant was originally promulgated by the Bishop of Missouri, The Rt. Rev. Deon K. Johnson. It is a long, broad, and thorough document that bears study and reflection in order to enable effective action. Bishop Michael Curry and our Diocesan Bishop Greg Rickel have asked every parish to study and implement this covenant.
Lent, with our new interim in place and with our congregation prayerfully engaged in seeking God’s new direction for us, seems an ideal time to tackle such a project. Our four week series, beginning March 14th, will offer congregational space to reflect on how we, as individuals and as a parish, can live more fully into God’s truly just Beloved Community. For more information about the discussion group please contact Peach McDouall (at church or via directory contact info). For more information about the Covenant in our Diocese, see Bishop Greg’s statement at https://ecww.org/a-covenant-to-root-out-racism/
The meeting invitation and zoom link may be found in your latest emailed Parish Update, or you are welcome to email the church office.
