Profile Committee Needs Your Help

In our search for a new rector, your Profile Committee—Tom Egnew, Margo Fleshman, Ken Rhodes, Kristina Younger and Ed Wolfer—has been tasked with preparing the document that will be posted nationally to invite applicants to apply for the position. We want to provide an honest, accurate and authentic description of St. Andrew’s. To do this, we need your help.

First: While we are aware of the ministries our parish sponsors to support communities outside our church, we are less aware of the contributions individual parishioners make as volunteers in the greater Tacoma community. We believe your
service is reflective of the generosity of St. Andrew’s and would like to provide examples in our profile. If you volunteer, please let us know. We will not identify you personally in the document but hope to report your service.

Second: To make our document eye-catching, we need attractive photos of our church facilities (organ, columbarium, knave/sanctuary, building exterior), of church activities (services, coffee hour, outdoor services/picnics, special services, etc.), and of Tacoma and the greater Puget Sound area (scenic shots and activities like Dragon Boat races, Daffodil parade, etc.). If you have photos in a digital format that you are willing to share, we would greatly appreciate it.

Third: We will be using a survey, the Congregation Assessment Tool (CAT), as a way to gather information about current sentiments within our congregation. You will be sent an internet link to access the CAT via email in August. The survey is entirely anonymous but must be completed in one sitting. It takes between 30 and 45 minutes to finish. We need all of you to take the time to give us your feedback. More details will be forthcoming as the opening date for the survey draws near. If you need help or don’t have internet access, we will assist so you can participate.
