Vestry Notes from Judy Nelson, Senior Warden

Your new vestry held our first meeting by ZOOM and we accomplished a great deal beyond just getting to know our new configuration.

  • We elected and welcomed a new Junior Warden and Clerk. Kendall Burch is our new Junior Warden. He is starting his second vestry term and is well versed in how the vestry functions. John Austin, one of our new members, has agreed to serve as Clerk for this next year. Please thank them for this service when next you see them.
  • Financial statements for January, 2022 were presented and approved.  The budget continues to be on track.
  • The kitchen remodel was discussed and the next steps for the vestry are to reach out to you the congregation to determine engagement and interest in this undertaking. Two vestry members will spearhead this work (Sandy Dick and John Cain). They will return to the vestry in April to provide an update regarding interest, support and engagement.
  • Transition continues. Our next step as a parish is to call a Profile Committee as per the Diocese of Olympia Transition Manual.  Potential candidates for the Profile Committee were suggested and discussed. Vestry members will be reaching out to congregants to start populating the committee. John Austin has agreed to serve as the vestry representative for this committee as prescribed by the diocese.
  • The annual Vestry Retreat has been scheduled for the weekend of March 11/12th
  • Remaining business was postponed until our next vestry meeting on March 15th

Minutes of this meeting will be available soon. It is an honor to continue serving as your Senior Warden and I am so grateful for everyone’s support. Please feel free to reach out to me if I can help in any way.

Peace
