Vestry Report – by Judy Nelson, Senior Warden

Your vestry met on Tuesday, April 19 and continues to do your work.

To start, let me introduce you to your Profile Committee. These folks have agreed to serve on this most important committee as we continue our transition.  John Austin has agreed to be the vestry liaison for this group consisting (in alpha order, I am a retired librarian after all) Carol Baarsma, Tom Egnew, Margo Fleshman, Ken Rhodes, Ed Wolfer and Kristina Younger. Starting in May, they will work with our assigned Diocesan consultant, Maeve Wyatt. I, and your vestry are so grateful for their willingness to serve.  Please take a moment to thank them when you next see them, and of course, share your thoughts and concerns with them (especially John Austin who will also bring them to the vestry).

Items covered during the meeting:

Brief overview of the services of Holy Week and a thanks for all the hard work that went in to making it so special.
A roof damage issue identified by Bill Brice.  The roofer will come out on Friday to see the extent of the damage.
March financial reports were reviewed.  Pledges were down slightly.
The update of the profile committee was reported.
A vestry training on reading and understanding financial statements is scheduled for May.
Safety survey results were discussed and a recommendation made.
Technology issues included the approval of the hiring of a new webmaster to replace Dave Tinsley, the purchase of two new computers for the office, and a second lavalier microphone.
Youth and family ministry will continue to be developed, with the addition of a service for youth during regular 10am services, and a potential ministry for our youth to support homelessness
The kitchen remodel team will send out a survey for the congregation to respond to.

Our next meeting will be on Tuesday, May 17th at 6pm.

Thanks for all your prayers and good wishes.
Peace,
Judy T Nelson, Sr. Warden
