Vestry Viewpoint

As the days get wetter and darker and our calendars get busier with holiday preparations, I want to offer
a word of encouragement and gratitude for all of you.

We’ve talked a lot about the tasks we have ahead of us as a parish: finding a new rector, reestablishing
our fellowship habits, maintaining financial readiness, and defining our relationship with the rest of the community. These challenges are formidable, and it’s easy to feel overwhelmed by them, but I hope
that we can also be energized by what has already been accomplished during this difficult year:

Sunday school and the children’s choir resumed.

The Covenant to Root Out Racism became a regular topic of adult education.

We spent time together at the summer picnic and the fall gathering.

The emergency roof repair was quickly paid for through direct contributions.

We financially supported over a dozen local, national, and international charities.

A standing stewardship committee was established to focus on parish financial health.

The profile committee collated valuable feedback on the health and needs of the parish.

The rest of the Vestry and I are incredibly grateful for everyone who has stepped in and
dedicated their time, energy, and talents to making all these things (and more) happen. We look
forward to continued work together at St. Andrew’s to know Christ and make Christ known.
